Race for the Cure

On May 29, 2010, the Georgia Race for the Cure, a partnership between the Women Wellness Care Alliance HERA and Susan G Komen for the Cure, took place on Turtle Lake (Tbilisi). The Race for the Cure included a 2K walk and a 5K run, and was organized by the HERA. Presenting sponsors include the National Screening Center and the John Snow Research and Training Institute within the scope of the Healthy Women in Georgia Program financed by the United States Agency for International Development.

The goal of the event is to raise awareness in Georgia about breast cancer and the methods of early detection. Georgia’s First Lady Sandra Roelofs serves as the patroness of the breast health movement in the country.
